Brett Wetzel enters his eighth season as Head Coach of Adrian College Men's Lacrosse in the Spring of 2026. Prior to his current position, he coached three seasons at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, working with the offense in 2016 and 2017 before leading the defense in 2018, and mentoring face-off men each season. In 2016, he helped the Lords reach the North Coast Athletic Conference Semifinals and earn six All-NCAC selections, one USILA All-American, and one USILA Scholar All-American. In 2016 & 2017, the Lords' offense ranked in the Top 25 in both goals per game and man-up percentage. In 2018, he led a defensive unit that was key in Kenyon returning to the NCAC Semifinals. Wetzel began his coaching career as the assistant coach at Albion College, where over five seasons the Britons' win total improved each year while recording double-digit wins in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The 2015 season culminated in the program's first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship, first NCAA Tournament bid, and their first NCAA tournament victory. Wetzel was a four-year starter at defense for SUNY Potsdam from 2005-08 under Coach Rick Berkman. In 2008, he was selected to represent the North squad for the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game and was named the team's Rookie of the Year following the 2005 season.
