Head Coach
Rick Williamson was named head coach of the Wright State cross country and track programs in June 2016. Williamson, who was the interim head coach for the track team in 2015-16, served as an assistant coach for the cross country team for five years and the track program for four seasons. During his time as an assistant, the Raiders showed continued improvement, including third-place Horizon League finishes by the women's cross country team in 2015-16 and by the men's cross country and women's outdoor track teams in 2013-14. That year saw Dan Shafer earn the Wright State Male Athlete of the Year, as he finished second at the league meet and won the 10,000-meter run at the league outdoor track meet. In 2012, the Raiders set 10 new track records, highlighted by Cassandra Lloyd receiving her second All-American honor by appearing in the NCAA National Meet in Des Moines, Iowa. Overall, 26 school records in track have been set since Williamson's arrival in the fall of 2011 (16 indoor, 10 outdoor) along with a new 5K record for men's cross country. Williamson came to WSU after serving one year as head men's and women's cross country and assistant track coach at Notre Dame College of Ohio. While there, Williamson guided the distance runners to six new school records and five NAIA track qualifiers. Assistant Coach
Noah Schaub was named an assistant coach for the Wright State cross country and track and field programs in September 2023. Schaub previously served as the men's cross country and distance coach and recruiting coordinator at Division II Malone University. He initially joined the Malone distance coaching staff in the summer of 2021 before earning a promotion in August 2022. The Northeast Ohio native coached Malone's men's cross country program to a 14th-place finish in the 2022 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. Max Gucker advanced to the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, where he placed 89th out of 257 runners with a personal-best 10K time of 31:09.0. Before joining the coaching ranks, Schaub competed as a student-athlete for Malone and Bowling Green. At BGSU, Schaub earned All-MAC First Team honors twice, finishing third as a junior and second as a senior at the conference championship meet. He was also named a member of the NCAA Great Lakes All-Regional Team as a senior. As a senior, he earned the Falcon Medal of Honor Award for excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service. After earning an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition at BGSU, Schaub finished his athletic career at Malone by competing with the track and field team for two seasons. Assistant Coach
Shaila Jones joined Wright State as an assistant coach for the Raider track & field programs in August 2025. Jones joined the Raiders after spending time as an assistant at UT Martin, where she coached sprints and hurdles for the Skyhawks and helped the group to six top-10 finishes at Ohio Valley Conference Championships this spring. Jones helped her student-athletes break two school records and 49 personal records, with four seniors breaking personal bests set back during their freshmen years. A native of St. Louis, Jones earned her Master of Science in Sport Coaching and Performance from UT Martin after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Saint Louis University, where she competed in sprints and hurdles for the Billikens for four seasons. Jones also holds a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification.
