In his tenure at West Virginia, King has nine All-Big 12 First Team rowers – Violet Hewett (2024-25), Lydia Nicolai (2022-23), Emma Toy (2021), Hannah Simmerly (2019), Carly Ledbetter (2018), Louisa Morgan (2017), Elizabeth Kantak (2016), Elizabeth Duarte (2015) and Courtney Schrand (2013-14). He has also had 102 student-athletes named College Rowing Coaches of America (CRCA) Scholar-Athletes, including a school-record 11 in 2021 and 2022 and 219 Big 12 All-Academic Team members, including the 2017 Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the year, Morgan. At West Virginia 2024-25 The season opened at the Sunshine 2k in Sarasota, Florida, with four boats competing. This challenging regatta got the team valuable racing experience against a variety of programs, including Big 12 programs. Additionally, in 2018, she had oversight of the 2018 NCAA National Champion women’s basketball team’s strength and conditioning program and also worked with the women’s volleyball team and the men’s and women’s swimming programs. While at Notre Dame, Sweeney worked directly with her team’s head coaches, dietitians and medical staffs to ensure holistic, high-performance approaches to maximize performance of each student-athlete. Prior to her time with the Irish, Sweeney served as the head football strength and conditioning coach, as well as the assistant Olympic sports strength and conditioning coach, at Dartmouth (2008-10). Prior to WVU, Montoro spent seven years at Southern Miss (2000-07), overseeing the media relations unit in various capacities. Prior to Westford, Sevick worked with the Avon High School Crew Team, coaching their novice squads, as well as running strength and conditioning for the entire team. In addition to coaching, Sevick coxed with the Riverfront Recapture Women’s racing team from 2010-14 and then again in 2019.
