Assistant Coach
Wake Forest women’s soccer and head coach Tony da Luz announced the addition of assistant coach Christine Nairn to the Wake Forest women’s soccer staff on Feb. 8, 2026. This 2026 season will mark Nairn’s third year coaching collegiate soccer, serving as assistant coach for the Crimson Tide in 2025 and Houston Cougars in 2024. The Annapolis, Md.-native spent her collegiate career with the Penn State Nittany Lions, amassing three-time All-American nods and four-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree. The 2012 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year was additionally selected as a Mac Hermann Trophy Finalist that same year. As a freshman, Nairn was tabbed with Big Ten Freshman of the Year and TopDrawerSoccer.com Rookie of the Year, while also landing a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Following her success at Penn State, Nairn went seventh overall in the 2013 NWSL draft, beginning her professional career with the Seattle Reign. She spent nine total seasons in the league, undergoing stints with the Washington Spirit, Orlando Pride and finishing her career with the Houston Dash. The midfielder was the first NWSL player to make 150 appearances in her time, with 167 across her entire career. Additionally, in the year of her retirement in 2021, she was one of just seven players to record 20 goals and 20 assists in her time with the league. Assistant Coach
Head coach Tony da Luz announced the hiring of assistant coach Taylor Culp on April 12, 2024. In 2025, Culp assisted in Wake Forest's 24th overall NCAA Tournament berth. Three members of the Wake Forest squad were tabbed with All-ACC Honors: forward Kylie Maxwell (Freshman of the Year, Freshman Team, 3rd Team), goalkeeper Valentina Amaral (3rd Team) and forward Allie Flanagan (Freshman Team). Maxwell was also named No. 1 on TopDrawerSoccer’s Midseason Rankings, while Flanagan was named No. 19. Amaral earned a spot on the National Rankings at No. 95, with defender Sierra Sythe at No. 40. In his first year with the program, Culp helped guide the Deacs' to their first College Cup appearance since 2011, and 23rd overall appearance in the tournament. With his assistance, five Demon Deacons earned All-ACC honors: Caiya Hanks (First Team), Emily Colton, Emily Murphy, Zara Chavoshi (Second Team), and Valentina Amaral (Third Team). Director, Equipment (MBB, M&W Golf, WSOC)
Tyler Shore came to Wake Forest in February of 2020 as an Assistant Director of Equipment Services. Upon arrival, Shore handled all equipment services for the Demon Deacons' women's soccer, volleyball and track and field/cross country programs. As of 2023, Shore is the primary equipment manager for Wake Forest men's basketball, men's and women's golf and women's soccer. Shore is also a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. Shore came to Wake Forest from Elon, where he served as an Assistant Equipment Manager. While in college at Western Carolina, he was a student manager for the football team. A native of Durham, N.C., Shore graduated from Western Carolina in 2008 with a degree in Sport Management. Shore resides in Winston-Salem.
