Ted Patton

Biography

Head coach Jack Brown of Wisconsin swimming and diving adds Ted Patton as an assistant coach. The 2025-26 season is Patton's first season with the Badgers. Patton comes to Wisconsin after spending two seasons with Indiana University as an assistant coach with the swimming and diving program. There, he was responsible for recruiting assistance and helped develop every day practice planning and workouts. Recently, Patton helped coach the men's team to a third place finish in the 2025 Men's NCAA Championships, and a fourth place finish in 2024. The men's squad also won the Big Ten Conference Championship those years as well. "We are thrilled to welcome Ted Patton to Wisconsin," said Badger head coach Jack Brown. "Ted brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to build and sustain elite team culture. During his time at Indiana, he had a tremendous impact not just on performance, but on people—his ability to build meaningful relationships with athletes while challenging them to reach their full potential is second to none. His insight, steadiness, and competitive drive are going to be a huge asset to our program." Patton also spent time in Colorado Springs with the United States Olympic Committee where he served as a head coach with the Paralympic Resident Swim Team, and an assistant coach to the Paralympic Swim Team from 1999-2001.
