Head Coach
One of the most accomplished collegiate women’s lacrosse players in the history of the sport, Lindsey Munday was handpicked to lead the first-ever USC women’s lacrosse team and was officially hired on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. She enters her 14th season (2026) as the head coach of the Women of Troy. Munday’s accolades both as a player and as a coach earned her recognition as Lacrosse Magazine’s 2013 Person of the Year. Munday is a two-time Pac-12 coach of the year (2019 and 2023) and is a two-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Coach of the Year (2015 and 2016). She was chosen as the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) West/Midwest Coach of the Year in 2016 and was honored by Inside Lacrosse (ILWomen) as that season’s National Coach of the Year. Munday was named appointed the first-ever head coach of the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Sixes team on Apr. 9, 2024, and led Team USA to gold at the 2025 World Games held in Chengdu, China. Through 13 seasons, Munday holds a 161-70 (.697) overall record with an 85-24 (.780) mark in league games (MPSF 2013-17; Pac-12 2018-24; Big Ten 2025-present). Munday led the Trojans to their first Pac-12 championship in 2019 and then to a second title in 2023. Assistant Coach
A three-time IWLCA All-American midfielder as a collegian, Cassidy Spilis is in her second season (2026) as an assistant coach for the Women of Troy. Her appointment to the position in July 2024 was her first as a collegiate coach. As a midfielder at Rutgers, Spilis was a three-time IWLCA All-American (2021, ’22, ’24) and was twice named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year (2022, ’24). Her accolades also include four All-America selections by Inside Lacrosse (2021-24) and three by USA Lacrosse Magazine (2022-24). Following her collegiate career, Spilis was selected 13th overall in the AU Pro Lacrosse Draft and earned a spot on the U.S. Women’s Sixes National Team. Spilis was a three-time team captain for the Scarlet Knights (2022-24) and was a four-time choice for the All-Big Ten First Team, the Big Ten All-Tournament Team, and the Big Ten All-Academic Team. In 2024, she received the Big Ten’s Medal of Honor. She was also a four-time IWLCA All-Region team member and a four-time nominee to the official Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Spilis completed her collegiate career as Rutgers’ all-time career leader in points (281), goals (266), and draw controls (313). In her final season, she set the Knights’ single-season goal record at 74 (2024). Assistant Coach
Jill Rizzo is in her in her second season (2026) as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Women of Troy. Previously an assistant at Marquette for three seasons (2022-24), Rizzo joined the Trojans on Monday, July 8, 2024. Rizzo was part of the Marquette staff when it was named the 2023 Big East Coaching Staff of the Year. She helped lead the Golden Eagles to their first-ever NCAA tournament berth in 2023 when Marquette posted a program-best 15-4 record with a 5-1 mark in the Big East. At Marquette, Rizzo helped run the defensive and goalie units. In 2024, with Rizzo on staff, the Golden Eagles ranked in the top 10 nationally in draw controls (297) and in draw controls per game (17.47). Offensively, Marquette was in the top 25 in the country and led the Big East with over 32 shots per game led by Meg Bireley (8.94 shots per game) and Leigh Steiner (7.12 shots per game), who each ranked first and second in the conference. As a collegiate student-athlete at Ohio State, Rizzo played goalie for the Buckeyes (2016-21). She was a five-year starter—including the COVID season in 2020—saved a program-record 777 shots and had 36-career games with double-digit saves. She tallied a .469 save percentage and won 28 games during her time in Columbus. Josh Shoemaker is in his fifth year in the USC Athletic Department and his fourth (2026) as the Director of Operations for USC lacrosse. Shoemaker "Shoe" first joined the Trojans’ staff in 2021 as an assistant director of equipment operations in charge of lacrosse, soccer, and both the men’s and women’s golf programs. Shoemaker moved into his position as lacrosse director of operations in the summer of 2022 and was a member of the staff when the Trojans won the 2023 Pac-12 Championship and secured a berth in the NCAA tournament. In his role, Shoemaker manages all aspects of the program’s operations including budget and Nike apparel allotment. He coordinates team travel, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation, and assists with alumni relations. In his career, Shoemaker has collected more than 13 years of collegiate and professional experience in equipment management, operations, and logistics. Before arriving in Los Angeles, Shoemaker supported all 22 sports as Director of Equipment Operations at East Stroudsburg University in 2021. Shoemaker also served as an equipment coordinator for the UFC in Las Vegas (2017-20). He got his start as a student football equipment manager (2014-15) and was later promoted to assistant football equipment manager (2015-17) at Incarnate Word. Shoemaker graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in sports management from Incarnate Word in 2015.

Associate Head Coach
Lauren Gunning is in her fifth season (2026) with the Women of Troy; her fourth as the program’s Associate Head Coach (2023-current). She previously served as an assistant coach for the Trojans in 2022. Gunning joined USC after seven seasons (2015-21) as a coach at Connecticut where she played lacrosse as a student-athlete (2008-11). She returned to her alma mater in the summer of 2014 and coached her first six seasons as a Huskies assistant. She was elevated to the position of associate head coach in 2021. Before Connecticut, she spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Cincinnati (2012-14). Gunning directed UConn’s offensive unit and helped the Huskies win 59 games during her time with the Huskies. In both 2016 and 2021, Connecticut reached a program-record 12 wins. In 2021, Gunning helped UConn earn a berth into the NCAA tournament for only the second time in program history and for the first time since 2013. While on staff, Gunning coached attacker Grace Nolan who graduated as UConn’s all-time leader in points and goals. Under her guidance, Nolan was named a third-team IWLCA All-American in 2018 and was a two-time Big East Attacker of the Year. Gunning’s efforts also helped Nolan achieve IWLCA All-Northeast Region first-team honors several times and the Big East Rookie of the Year award in 2015.
