Head Coach
Jack Rubano was hired as head coach of the men's tennis program in the fall of 2014 as the seventh head coach in team history and completed his 10th season at the helm of the program in 2024. In his tenure, Rubano has led the Royals to a 70-81 (.464) overall record including a 41-26 (.612) mark against Landmark Conference opponents. Scranton has qualified for the Landmark Conference playoffs in seven of his 10 seasons as the team's head coach and has finished runners-up in the Landmark in three Championship years (2018, 2019, and 2021). He was named Landmark Conference Coach of the Year in 2017. Rubano most recently served as head varsity boys tennis coach at Devon Prep Academy from 2010 to 2014 and previously coached at Conestoga High School and Merion Mercy Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from St. Vincent College in 1998 and a Master of Science in Education from St. Joseph's University in 2000. Rubano studied at The University of Scranton from 1994 to 1996 and was a member of the basketball program. He has 14 years of teaching experience in grades 5 through 12 and currently teaches theology at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
