Amanda Stone was hired on June 21, 2023 as the 11th head coach of the UNT women's tennis team. In the 2024-25 season, Stone led the Mean Green to their first postseason appearance since 2014 with an appearance in the 2025 UTR NIT Women's Tennis Championship, picking up a first round victory over Appalachian State. Following the 2024-25 season, Stone's career winning percentage (.663) ranked inside the top 50 among all active (31st) and all-time (48th) winning percentages in NCAA history. In her first season at the helm, Stone led the Mean Green to 12 dual match wins, the most of any first-year head coach since 1985 (Steve Buck, 20) and the most for a North Texas team since 2019. In addition, Stone guided UNT to its first victories over a ranked opponent and a Big 12 opponent since 2016 and its first win in The American Athletic Conference Championship in program history. Stone joined the Mean Green after a seven-year stint as the head coach at Louisiana Tech. Stone led LA Tech to the two best seasons in program history. The 2023 Conference USA Coach of the Year and Wilson/ITA Southern Region Coach of the Year, Stone comes to Denton following a record-breaking as head coach at Louisiana Tech. During that time, she became the program’s all-time wins leader with an 89-69 mark in Ruston. She has a 175-89 record all-time in 11 seaso
