Michael Mattiace

Biography

Michael Mattiace returned to his roots in March of 2024 and joins the Osprey coaching staff as an Assistant Coach during the 2023-24 season. In his first two seasons assisting the men's and women's golf teams, he has helped develop six All-ASUN honorees, as well as two ASUN All-Freshmen selections, an ASUN All-Academic selection and the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Year in 2024. During the 2024-25 season alone, both squads reeled in a combined seven ASUN Golfer of the Week honors with two from the men's side and five from the women's side. Mattiace jumped right into action during his first season helping UNF to a top-three team finish at the ASUN Championship. He also assisted the team to a top-five placement at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional, which led to their appearance at the 2024 NCAA Championship tournament. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Mattiace was a five-year standout for the UNF men's golf from 2016-21 highlighted by an All-ASUN selection and three Academic All-ASUN selections throughout his tenure in Jacksonville. He went on to play three years of professional golf, mainly in the Dakotas Tour with three wins, 12 top-10 finishes, and 19 top-25 finishes in summer events. Mattiace was a decorated player with the Ospreys on top of his All-ASUN selection as ASUN Co-Freshman of the Year, ASUN All-Freshman and an ASUN Golfer of the Week selection. He added on to his conference all-academic selections as well, landing on the ASUN Academic Honor Roll five times in his coll
