Kim Lorenc was named Head Softball Coach at UNE in the summer of 2020, after assisting the program for two years. In July 2025, Lorenc was elevated to a full-time position -- the first UNE softball coach of such status. During a limited 2021 campaign under her direction (6-7 overall), the Nor'easters qualified for the league tournament. Back to a full schedule in 2022, UNE earned the third seed through the Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season and reached the semifinal of the double elimination tournament. She was the top assistant for UNE in 2019, as the squad improved by 6.5 games from the previous season, going 26-16 overall with a 12-4 CCC record. Lorenc was a three-time all-conference performer and four-year starter at third base for Saint Joseph's College of Maine (NCAA III).
