Kasey Keenan '02

Biography

Kasey Keenan has been the coach of the men's golf program at UNE for the last 20 seasons, and finished year one with the new women's program in 2024-25. The men have at least one event victory in four of the last five seasons, including two in the fall of 2021. The first time the program captured a title was in 2010 (twice); the second of which was the Maine Intercollegiate Championship. Within the Athletics Department, Keenan is also the Tournament Director for the department's annual fundraiser, the Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic. Additionally, he spent eight seasons as assistant coach for the men's basketball team between 2002-12, and served as the Coordinator of Intramural and Club Sports from his start at UNE through 2009. A 2002 graduate from the University with a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness management, Keenan enjoyed an athletic career that included playing four years of basketball, three years of golf, and one of soccer for the Nor'easters. On the court, he averaged 10.0 points and 4.1 assists over 88 games, and still ranks fifth in program history for three-pointers made (210). On the golf course, Keenan carded a career-low of 75 to place second individually at the 1999 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship.
