Cheri Lindsay

Biography

Cheri Lindsay was named the new head coach of Memphis Volleyball in January 2025. Lindsay comes to Memphis after spending the previous two seasons as the head coach of her alma mater, Prairie View A&M, where she led the Lady Panthers to a 36-29 overall record with a 26-6 record in conference play. During the 2024 season, Lindsay's Lady Panthers finished with a 13-3 record in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, reaching the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. Under Lindsay's guidance, Kylee Owens was recognized as the SWAC Player of the Year. In her first season at Prairie View A&M, Lindsay led the Tigers to a 19-13 record, also going 13-3 in league play, with the Lady Panthers reaching the semifinals. Prior to returning to her alma mater, Lindsay was the head coach of the East Central University Lady Tigers for three seasons, where she set multiple new milestones after inheriting a program that had gone 2-29. Her additional coaching experience includes serving as associate head coach at Seattle University (2018-20), head coach at Bethany College (2015-18), and assistant coach at Tiffin University (2012-14). Lindsay had a successful playing career as a member of the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers from 2008-11, earning three-time First Team All-SWAC selection honors and recording over 1,300 kills and 1,000 digs.
