Tyler Shough passed for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in his lone year with the Cardinals. Brohm saw his quarterback complete 67.2 percent of his throws and toss just six interceptions on 389 pass attempts. As the quarterbacks coach, Brohm tutored Jack Plummer to an all-conference season where he picked up third team honors after throwing for 3,204 yards and 21 touchdowns, while completing a solid 64.8 percent of his passes. As the offensive coordinator in 2024, Brohm directed an offense that averaged 36.5 points per game and was the only team in the country to score at least 24 points in each game. The explosive offense averaged 449.2 yards per game, which ranked 13th nationally and averaged 6.85 yards per play. Under Brohm, the passing game was one of the best in the country, averaging 264.1 yards per game and averaged nearly 13.0 yards a completion. Deion Branch, a former Super Bowl Most Valuable player and one of the school's most successful wide receivers, was named the wide receivers coach in February 2025. Branch was elevated to the wide receiver position after spending three seasons as the team's Director of Player Development. He also served as the team's interim head coach for the 2022 Wasabi Fenway Bowl leading the Cards to a 24-7 win over Cincinnati for the school's first bowl win since 2019. A two-year letterwinner for the Cards, Branch is one of the school's top wide receivers and is one of the 28 players in UofL history to have his jersey honored. His No. 9 was celebrated during the 2010 season. Coming to Louisville out of Jones Community College, Branch played for the Cards from 2000-01 and became one of only three wide receivers in school history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Branch led the team with 71 receptions for 1,016 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with the Cards. He led the Cards to a 9-3 record and the school's first C-USA title. In 2023, Maslowski's special teams units blocked two punts and was also highlighted by placekicker Brock Travelstead's school-record tying field goals that lifted the Cards to a 13-10 win at NC State. Before revisiting Louisville, Maslowski spent one season with Brohm at Purdue as the special team coordinator and an assistant linebackers coach. In his lone season with the Boilermakers, Maslowski helped guide Purdue to its first ever Big Ten Championship appearance. Starting off as the linebackers coach from 2023-2025, Ivey was promoted to co-defensive coordinator and moved to the defensive line for the 2026 season. Under Ivey's guidance, the Cardinals were a pair of linebackers in 2024. T.J. Quinn and Stanquan Clark recorded 82 and 76 tackles, respectively, to pace the Cards. A veteran coach and former Louisville assistant, Paul Petrino returns to the Cardinals as Senior Offensive Assistant, overseeing the tight ends. This marks Petrino’s third stint at Louisville. He previously coached wide receivers from 1998–99 before returning as offensive coordinator and receivers coach from 2003–06, a period that produced some of the most explosive offenses in program history. Under Petrino’s direction, the Cardinals led the nation in both total offense (539.8 yards per game) and scoring offense (49.8 points per game) in 2004, while the 2006 offense ranked second nationally at 475.5 yards per game. Petrino brings more than 35 years of coaching experience back to Louisville after spending the past two seasons at South Alabama. He served as the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator during the 2025 campaign after coaching wide receivers in 2024, continuing a career defined by offensive productivity and player development. Ellis’ group netted a combined total of 25 interceptions over a two-year span, representing ECU’s highest per-game clip (1.19) since the 2013 and 2014 campaigns when they averaged 1.23 interceptions per game. Leading ECU to a bowl game for the first time since 2014, the 2021 Pirates stood 14th nationally and second in the AAC with 15 interceptions. Under Ellis’ watchful eye, Ja’Quan McMillian captured the 2021 NCAA FBS Statistical Championship in passes defended (1.75), while standing fourth nationally in total interceptions, fifth in interceptions per game (0.42) and 22nd in fumbles recovered (0.67) to go along with his 56 tackles - which was second among all Pirate defenders. Marrow joined Kentucky's staff in 2013 to tutor the tight ends before adding recruiting coordinator to his title in 2014 and additionally being named Associate Head Coach for the 2019 season. During Marrow's tenure, the Wildcats won at least seven or more games seven times and reached post-season play on eight occasions. The Wildcats won 10 games twice in 2018 and 2021, which both seasons culminated with wins over Big Ten teams in the Citrus Bowl.
