ORLANDO – Bryan Harmon has joined the UCF track and field staff as an assistant coach, where he will oversee the cross country/distance squad, head coach Dana Boone announced Tuesday afternoon. Harmon makes the short move south after serving as the Stetson Cross Country Head Coach from 2016-22. His tenure with the program saw the Hatters achieve unprecedented success, leading both the men’s and women’s squads to strong finishes at the A-Sun Conference Championships. Across the 2025 indoor and outdoor seasons, Harmon's distance athletes tallied 17 top-10 performances in program history, reshaping the record book as a talented freshman class provided support for an experienced group of juniors. First-year Raquel Edwards and Kendall Hughes each climbed within the top five in the 1000m to highlight the short-track slate. The outdoor season brought multiple noteworthy achievements, most importantly the breakout of Norfolk State transfer Yvone Sandui. The Kenyan clocked the second-fastest 800m time in school history, going sub-2:05 with an impressive 2:04.94. That mark qualified Sandui for the NCAA East Preliminary, becoming the first distance athlete at UCF to punch its ticket to the first round since 2022. Another breakthrough came in the 3000m, as three Knights broke into the top four in the event on the same day, clocking multiple sub-10:09.00 times to transform the record book.
