Adam Hood

Biography

Adam Hood joined the UCF men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in May 2024 and enters his second season with the Knights in 2025-26. In Hood’s first season on Dawkins staff, he made an immediate impact as UCF’s offensive coordinator. The Knights treated fans to a fast and exciting brand of basketball that allowed UCF to score at least 85 points 13 times. UCF earned a berth in the championship game of the inaugural College Basketball Crown with wins over Oregon State, Cincinnati, and Villanova before falling to eventual champion Nebraska. The Knights reached the 20 win mark with Keyshawn Hall earning 2nd Team All Big 12 honors while Darius Johnson landed on the Honorable Mention All Big 12 squad. Hood implemented an ultra-fast paced offense that ranked 11th nationally in adjusted tempo while producing the program's first Big 12 leading scorer at 18.8 points per game (Keyshawn Hall). Along with Hall, point guard Darius Johnson finished fourth in Big 12 scoring at 17.4 points per game and combo guard Jordan Ivy-Curry checked in at 20th with 13.1 points per game. Johnson also ranked 4th in assists (4.3) in the Big 12. Hood came to Orlando after eight seasons at UTSA, where he helped guide the Roadrunners’ offense and spearheaded recruiting efforts. He was instrumental in signing some of the program’s all-time greats, including career scoring leader Jhivvan Jackson and No. 2 scorer Keaton Wallace, both Texas-based recruits.
