Jared Embick

Biography

Jared Embick, who had previously served as the Zips’ associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, officially became the seventh head coach in the history of The University of Akron men’s soccer program in December of 2012. he 2026 campaign marks his 14th year leading the Zips having registered a 158-66-39 (.675) ledger after earning the program’s first regular season BIG EAST Conference title in 2024. During Embick’s time at Akron, the Zips have posted the highest winning percentage in the nation with an overall record of 268-79-55 (.735), including a 84-16-17 (.791) mark in league play, while securing 11 conference tournament titles, 16 trips to the NCAA Tournament and three appearances in the College Cup final. Akron’s 158 victories since Embick took the helm of the Zips’ program in 2013 rank eighth among all men’s soccer programs in Division I. The Zips have qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 21 of the last 25 campaigns, including 12 straight from 2007-2018. Akron has reached the College Cup three times (2015, 2017, 2018) under Embick, including advancing to the national title game in 2018. During his 13 years as head coach at Akron, the Zips have earned 13 All-America citations, 32 all-region awards, 81 All-Conference selections, five academic All-America award winners, six Player and Newcomer of the Year awards, 93 academic All-MAC/BIG EAST recipients and 20 MAC Distinguished Scholars.
