Head Coach
Frank Reed concluded his 25th season with the Chattanooga Softball program in the spring of 2026 and reached a career milestone victory of 1300 games over 36 seasons. A life-long resident of Chattanooga and graduate of Central High School, Reed spent more than 30 years as a City of Chattanooga employee before focusing on coaching. He brought the Mocs to unprecedented success, claiming seven Southern Conference Coach of the Year awards, 10 regular season titles, and 11 tournament crowns with 11 NCAA Tournament appearances. Previously, Reed compiled an incredible record of 476 wins and 87 losses in 10 seasons at Chattanooga State (1992-2001), where he was named the 2001 NFCA National Junior College Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, the Tigers won eight conference and state championships and were ranked nationally in the top-10 for eight years. Reed also organized the Eagles Softball Association and served as hitting instructor for the Dominican Republic's national softball team, later becoming head coach and winning the Gold Medal at the Central American Games and Silver in the Pan Am Games in 2017. Reed and his wife Denise reside in Chattanooga and have two daughters, including Dana Reed Mull who is the head softball coach of Gordon Lee High School and played at UTC for four years.

Head Coach Frank Reed announced the addition of Cheyanne (Tarango) Camp to his staff on August 19, 2020. Camp has spent five full seasons with the Mocs and has played a crucial role in Chattanooga's success over that time in the Southern Conference. Camp works primarily with the pitching staff, and assists with the offense, after a highly successful pitching career across various playing levels in the sport. In just her second full season with UTC, the Mocs claimed the 2022 Southern Conference Tournament title behind SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player, pitcher Brooke Parrott. In 2024, UTC swept the Southern Conference regular season and tournament titles. Peja Goold was named the league's Pitcher of the Year and the SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Goold earned her second straight SoCon Pitcher of the Year honors in 2025, leading UTC to its 16th regular season title. She ranked in 13 NCAA Statistical categories including fourth for shoutouts, sixth for victories and ninth for hits allowed per seven innings. She was selected to the NFCA All-Region First Team. Chattanooga put together back-to-back 40-plus win seasons over the last two years and averaged over 30 wins per season in her five years with the Mocs. Assistant Coach
Ryan Brzozoski, a native from Calhoun, Georgia, is a decorated softball player who made a huge mark at Calhoun High School. Over her high school career, she helped lead the team to three state championships and one runner-up finish. A four-time GHSA All-State selection, Brzozoski holds school records for career hits, runs, triples, and batting average. Beyond high school, she showcased her talents playing travel ball for the Atlanta Vipers under coach Dicky Vallery. She went on to play collegiate softball at Samford University, where she majored in elementary education. A left-handed hitter, Brzozoski earned All-Southern Conference honors, including All-SoCon Tournament Team and Second Team All-SoCon recognition in 2021. After college, Brzozoski dedicated three years to teaching, before joining the coaching staff at UTC.

Director of Player Development
Sharon Tomei, a Santa Clarita, Calif. native and George Fox University graduate, joins the coaching staff after a record-breaking career as an infielder. A four-year starter, she became one of the most decorated players in George Fox program history, earning NCAA Statistical Champion (slugging percentage), NFCA All-American, NFCA All-Region, and multiple All-Northwest Conference honors. During her senior season, she led the NCAA in slugging percentage and broke numerous career and single-season records, including home runs (55), RBI (160), batting average (.482), and slugging percentage (1.068). With a background in Psychology, Tomei brings a strong focus on the mental side of the game. As the Director of Player Development, she is passionate about developing athletes both on and off the field and carries her leadership and championship-level experience into her coaching career.
