Twitter: @UM_Coach_JBrown Instagram: @iamj.brown The 2025-26 season will be the ninth at Montana for head coach Jason Brown, whose teams have enjoyed incredible success on the court and in the classroom since taking over for legendary coach Kris Nord in 2018. He is a two-time Big Sky Coach of the Year, and was named the ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading the Griz to the NCAA Tournament. He enters the season with a 97-67 overall record and a 36-22 record in Big Sky Conference matches, with a stellar 44-7 record at home. He’s led the Grizzlies to the conference tournament in all but one season. His Grizzlies won the Big Sky championship tournament and advanced to the NCAA tourney for just the second time in program history in 2025. 2025 was one of the most historic seasons overall in program history, with Brown leading UM to the first round of the NCAA Tournament where they faced eventual national semifinalist Texas. The Griz won just the second Big Sky championship tournament in program history to get there, upsetting No. 1 NAU. Brown was named both ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year and Big Sky Conference co-Coach of the Year. He became just the second ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year in Big Sky Conference history and the first in two decades. He was named Big Sky Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, winning in his first season at UM in 2018 and repeating in 2025. Tom Bittner was named the Mountain Region's "Player to Watch" fo
