At Texas Tech... 2 National Championships (2019 outdoor, 2024 indoor) 3 NCAA Champions 3 Olympians 38 All-Americans USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Assistant of the Year (2008 Outdoor, 2009 Indoor, 2011 Outdoor, 2012 Indoor, 2016 Outdoor, 2025 outdoor) Cliff Felkins is entering his 26th season as the throws coach in 2025-26. Under the tutelage of Felkins in 2025, Shelby Frank re-wrote the Texas Tech record book and elevated her throwing game to new heights. Frank secured three Big 12 titles - indoor weight, hammer and discus throw - and finished as a 1st Team All-American indoors in the weight and both hammer and discus outdoors. She scored 14 of the Tech women's 22 points at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as the team placed 12th overall. Frank placed 2nd in the hammer and placed 3rd in the discus. At the NCAA Indoor meet, she finished 5th in the weight throw. She left Tech holding all top 10 marks in the weight throw, hammer throw and nearly each discus mark. The 2024 season season was highlighted beginning with the NCAA Indoor team title run as he guided Jacob Mechler to his first NCAA appearance, competing in the weight throw - Mechler was the runner-up in the event at the conference meet. When it came to the outdoor portion, he mentored freshman shot putter Trey Wilson to national status as one of the top freshmen in the country, sending him to the NCAA outdoor meet. Meanwhile, on the women's side, he helped guide newcomer Zoe Burleson in the discus to her first-ever NCA
