Biography

James Wilson is in his second season as associate head coach with Texas A&M women’s tennis as the Aggies embark on the 2025-26 campaign Texas A&M experienced great success in Wilson’s first year on staff, posting a 30-4 record and finishing as national runner-up after the Maroon & White’s second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship title match. The Aggies won their fourth consecutive SEC regular-season crown and finished runner-up at the conference tournament. Under Wilson’s tutelage, the Aggies produced two All-Americans including Mary Stoiana (No. 2) and Nicole Khirin (No. 11). Khirin, Stoiana, Mia Kupres and Lucciana Perez also landed All-SEC spots. Wilson owns 17 years of collegiate tennis experience, including a three-year playing career at Texas Tech and 14 years of coaching. He most recently served as the head coach of the Georgia State men's team. Prior to his time with the Panthers, Wilson spent three seasons at South Florida as the associate head coach of the men’s tennis team. He helped the Bulls notch back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and secure an upset win over Duke in the opening round. USF posted a 40-25 mark with Wilson on staff. Wilson has championships experience of his own, winning two-straight conference titles during his head coaching stint at Utah State, where the Aggies’ men’s team also secured NCAA Tournament berths in both seasons.
