Taylor succeeded Naismith Hall of Famer Gary Blair and inherited a program that was one of eight schools in the past 20 years to have a national title. Over the previous 19 seasons, the program won five conference titles and reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times. Taylor led the Maroon & White to a 10 win jump from year one to year two at the helm. THE NEWTON FILE PERSONAL Hometown: Monroe, Louisiana Education: Rutgers, 2005 COACHING RESUME 2006-07: Director of Player Development, Rutgers 2010-15: Assistant Coach, Rutgers 2015-22: Assistant Coach, Georgia 2022-: Associate Head Coach, Texas A&M Chelsea Newton, a 14-year coaching veteran, was named associate head coach at Texas A&M in April of 2022. In her first season at A&M, Newton helped the Aggies land the No. 20 recruiting class in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Texas for the first time in program history. Under her assistance, the team saw two players make the SEC All-Freshman Team for the first time ever and A&M became the first 13 seed to ever make the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Newton joined Joni Taylor in Aggieland after spending the previous seven seasons as an assistant at Georgia with Taylor. She helped the Lady Bulldogs land three top-15 recruiting classes and earn four NCAA Tournament bids. The Monroe, Louisiana, native comes from the coaching tree of Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer C. Vivian Stringer. Newton played under the legend from 2001-05 and coached on her staff from 2010-2015 at Rutgers. THE MOSLEY FILE PERSONAL Hometown: Mobile, Alabama Education: Miles College, 1999 COACHING RESUME 2004-10: Head Coach, Ramsay High School (Birmingham, Ala.) 2010-12: Assistant Coach, Alabama 2012-22: Assistant Coach, Georgia 2022-: Assistant Coach, Texas A&M Southeastern Conference coaching veteran Robert Mosley joined the women's basketball staff in April 2022 as an assistant coach. Mosley helped A&M in his first season in Aggieland become the first No. 13 seed to advance to the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Additionally, he assisted in the signing of the No. 20-ranked recruiting class by ESPN.com. Mosley spent the previous 10 seasons as an assistant at Georgia, seven of which with Joni Taylor as the leader of the Lady Bulldogs. The Mobile, Alabama, native helped lead UGA to five NCAA Tournament runs, including an Elite Eight berth in 2013. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped lead his team to seven postseason tournaments and mentored 24 All-SEC selections. While at Georgia, Mosley was responsible for mentoring the post position. He coached WNBA Draft picks Mackenzie Engram (2018) and Caliya Robinson (2019). He also helped develop Jenna Staiti into a two-time All-SEC performer, including a first-team selection at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. Prior to Athens, Mosley was a member of the Alabama coaching staff from 2010-12, where he made an immediate impact on the Tide's fortunes.
