Canyon Kyle was promoted by head coach Brett Boretti to assistant coach before the 2023 season, and currently serves as Director of Player Development/Camps. Columbia went back-to-back after winning a second consecutive Ivy League title in 2025. The Lions also won the Ivy League Tournament crown to earn a bid to the NCAA Regionals, where Columbia knocked off Southern Miss in the opening round. Columbia saw 10 student-athletes earn All-Ivy League honors, including Ivy League Player of the Year and ABCA All-Region selection Sam Miller. Offensively, the Lions led the Ivy League in seven offensive categories, including slugging (.508), scoring (8.8) and home runs (74). Kyle helped guide the Lions to a 26-18 (17-4) record as Columbia captured the Ivy League title in 2024. Columbia set the single-season program record in home runs (87) for the third straight year, along with RBI (391), runs scored (416), total bases (903), doubles (131), and slugging percentage (.567). In his first season as assistant coach in 2023, Kyle oversaw two Lions outfielders garner All-Ivy League recognition. Cole Hage was named to the First Team and Hayden Schott was named to the Second Team. Hage hit .385 in 18 conference games on the season and had the highest on-base percentage (.500) in Ivy League play. He led the team in batting average, OPS, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage in conference play and was named Ivy League Player of the Week on April 10.
