Michael Lindauer

Biography

Michael Lindauer was promoted to quarterbacks coach on Jan. 8, 2026, and enters his first season in the role. Lindauer was previously a graduate assistant for the Salukis and was in the role for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. In 2025, Lindauer primarily worked with the offense as an offensive assistant. The former quarterback started his collegiate career at Cincinnati and was there from 2019-20. In 2020, Lindauer played behind NFL quarterback Desmond Ridder. Lindauer transferred to Southern Illinois in 2021 and spent the rest of his playing career in Carbondale. The Evansville, Ind., native missed the 2021 season due to injury and served as Nic Baker's backup from 2022-23. In 2024, Lindauer began the season as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff before being activated in Week 9. From there, Lindauer went on to play in four games and made one start, which came in a record-breaking performance against Murray State. The former quarterback threw for a program-record seven passing touchdowns against the Racers.
