Team Stringer
David Hardy joined the Old Dominion men’s tennis staff as a Team Stringer prior to the 2021 fall season. Hardy is certified by the USPTA and PTR at the highest level by each organization. David was the Adult Academy Director at Boar’s Head Resort for the past 2 years. In his time at Boar’s Head, Hardy helped develop Boar’s Head Resort into the No. 25 Tennis Resort in 2018 and No. 17 in 2019. He also assisted in the directing of the junior program with over 200 juniors ranging from beginners up to high level high school players who were interested in playing college tennis. Hardy was the Assistant Director of Tennis/Director of Instruction for six years at Wintergreen Resort. In his time at Wintergreen, Hardy helped elevate the tennis program to a top 20 world ranking for tennis resorts by Tennis Resorts Online (2011-2016). In addition, the Wintergreen Tennis Academy was consistently ranked inside the top 10 in the world for tennis camps by Tennis Resorts Online. Hardy has worked with hundreds of USTA adult teams, many of which have gone on to the district, sectional, and national level. As a player, Hardy had over 85 singles wins for Methodist University, while the program was ranked inside of the top 30 in the country for NCAA Division III. He has extensive experience working with juniors and adults of all ability levels.

Associate Head Coach
Othmane Lalami was hired as the Associate Head Coach of the Old Dominion men’s tennis program on Dec. 9th of 2019 after most recently serving at the Associate Head Coach at Duquesne. Old Dominion University: (Coaching) In his first season in Norfolk, Coach Lalami helped the ODU team to an ITA national ranking during the 2020 spring season, while two doubles tandems ended the year-end national rankings. ODU changed conferences in the 2022-23 season returning to the Sun Belt Conference and the Monarchs made quick noise to be a team to deal with as they captured the league title and NCAA Tournament bid. The Monarchs defeated South Alabama 4-2 in the tournament final and advanced to a regional at North Carolina. On the year, the Monarchs were 18-10 and were ranked third in the Atlantic Region. Individually, Jakob Cadonau was named Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year and Mueller earned Co-Coach of the Year honors. Cosme Rolland De Ravel garnered second team All-Conference honors as well. The 2021-22 season saw the Monarchs come away with a few postseason awards with Francois Le Tallec earning a bid to the NCAA Singles Championships finishing as the highest ranked player in Conference USA at 50th and earned First Team All-Conference USA honors in singles. The doubles tandems of Nicola Vidal and Luca Maldoner (first team) and Oliver Nolan and Younes Lalami (second team) earned honors as well. Vidal and Maldoner ended the year ranked 90th in doubles.
