Mike O'Guin

Biography

Mike O’Guin was named Oklahoma State's assistant defensive line coach in December 2025. He is a 15-year coaching veteran who has worked with defensive linemen throughout his career. He came to OSU from Texas State, where he worked as the defensive line coach for the 2023-25 seasons. During his time at Texas State, he helped guide the Bobcats to three bowl games. In his first season there in 2023, O'Guin coached a defensive line that helped the Bobcats lead the nation in tackles for loss and rank among the top 10 in sacks. The unit nearly broke the overall program record for tackles for loss in a season with 110.0 and set the program's FBS record for most sacks in a season with 40.0. Ben Bell, a second team All-Sun Belt selection, led the defensive line with an FBS program-record 10.0 sacks and 16.0 TFLs. The junior and second-year Bobcat was among the best in the country as a pass rusher according to PFF as he was second in the country in PFF pass rush grades and first in win percentage on pass rushes. He totaled 53 pressures. Overall, Texas State’s defensive line accounted for 31 of the team’s 40 sacks. A relentless recruiter, O’Guin arrived in San Marcos in 2023 with experience at the high school and FBS levels, working with the defensive lines at Texas Tech, Notre Dame, Sam Houston and three different Texas high schools.
