Biography

Murray State Head Coach The 2025 season will be Schwepker's 27th season at MSU. He is the winningest coach in program history and the top coach in longevity in program history. Led the Racers into their first season in the Missouri Valley Conference. Led MSU to the NCAA Tournament in 2003, 2014 and 2016. Named OVC Coach of the year in 2014 and 2015. Under Schwepker’s leadership, the Racers won the OVC regular season championship in three-straight years (2014, 2015, 2016). In 2021, the Racers saw Becca Fernandez become a three-time OVC Defensive Player of the Year and Brooke Lynn Watts win the Freshman of the Year Award. Fernandez and Watts were named All-OVC First Team and Bailey DeMier was named to the All-OVC Second Team. In 2019, coached Rachel Giustino as she was named AVCA All-American and OVC Player of the Year In 2018, the team matched a school record with 16 straight wins. In 2017, MSU made its fourth-straight trip to the OVC Tournament Championship match. 2016 marked the third consecutive OVC title for the Racers, becoming just the sixth team in OVC history to win three or more consecutive league championships Under Schwepker, Scottie Ingram (2013-16) won three straight OVC Player of the Year honors from 2014-16, becoming just the second student-athlete in league history to achieve the feat. The 2016 Racers became the first team in program history to win a set in the NCAA Tournament, defeating UCLA 25-21 in the opening set. In 2015, the Racers won a record 27 games.
