One of greatest linebackers in Bobcat history, Bobby Daly's fifth season as his alma mater's defensive coordinator in 2024 became another data point for him as one of the premiere defensive minds in the FCS, crafting a unit in 2024 that finished 11th in the FCS in points allowed (18.3) and 15th in yards allowed (311.9). He has produced four All-Americas and six First Team All-Big Sky selections during his five seasons as MSU's linebackers coach. The Helena Capital product has added responsibilities throughout his tenure, becoming Assistant Head Coach in 2022 and defensive coordinator following the 2023 season while continuing to lead the program's in-state recruiting efforts. As the MSU's linebackers coach since his arrival in 2019, Daly has coached some of the finest linebackers in program history, including All-Americas Troy Andersen (2021) and Callahan O'Reilly (2022), and McCade O'Reilly (2024), and All-Big Sky selections Josh Hill and Amandre Williams. Daly coached at Idaho from 2013 to 2018, rising from graduate assistant to operations director to linebackers coach in 2017-18. In that capacity he mentored all-league linebackers Kaden Elliss and Christian Elliss. Daly played for the Billings Outlaws in the Indoor Football League from 2009-11. With a passion for storytelling and over a decade of experience in digital media, Brian currently serves as the Director of Creative Services for the Montana State Athletic Department and has since his return to MSU in the summer of 2024. In this role, he leads all aspects of creative media for the university's athletic programs, overseeing the production of video, photo, and graphic content that captures the spirit and success of Bobcat Athletics. Prior to this position, Brian worked in multiple creative leadership roles, including Associate Director of Digital Content at Eastside Catholic School, and as a Multimedia Designer for the University of Washington Women's Basketball team. His start in creative media was with Montana State Athletics as a student intern from 2014 until he graduated in the winter of 2016. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Montana State University, with a focus in Marketing and a minor in Finance. His expertise spans video editing, graphic design, photography, and digital strategy. Whether Brian is on the sidelines of a big game or behind the scenes editing a story, his goal is always the same: to create impactful, engaging content that connects people to the teams, moments, and memories that matter.

Chandler Arbizzani, who played defensive back at Carroll College and Billings Skyview, enters his fourth season as Montana State's General Manager in 2025. He is tasked with managing the program's recruiting efforts, helping assemble nationally-recognized classes during each of his seasons with the Cats. After redshirting in 2013, Arbizzani played for the Fighting Saints from 2014-17. The 2017 Carroll graduate worked as Director of Video for Sam Houston football from 2020-21 before arriving at MSU in 2022.

Derek Griebel enters his third season on the Bobcat staff in 2025, his first as assistant special teams coach. He spent his previous two seasons as an undergraduate assistant working with running backs (2023-24) and tight ends (spring 2025). Griebel, a product of Jackson (Wyoming) High School, graduated from MSU with honors in 2025 with a BS in Kinesiology and a minor in Coaching.

Derek Jones (CSCS, MFT) is in his first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Montana State after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Bobcats. Jones serves as head strength coach for MSU women's basketball and assists with Bobcat football. As a GA, Jones worked with the women's basketball, women's tennis, Nordic skiing, and football programs. The Helena High product began his stint in Bozeman as an intern during the 2020-21 season. Prior to MSU, Jones served an internship at the University of Montana where he assisted with men's basketball, track and field, volleyball, softball, and soccer. Jones earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Montana State in 2012, and recently received a Master of Science degree in sport coaching and sciences from MSU, as well. Following graduation in 2012, Jones served in the United States Army. From 2017-19, he served as a squad leader/master fitness trainer with the US Army at Camp Roberts, Calif.

Jerry Anderson, a Sacramento State graduate, begins his third year as Montana State's Director of Football Administration in 2025. In his role, he serves manages many logistical aspects of the Bobcat football program, including the day-to-day operations of the Bobcat Athletic Complex. Anderson earned his BS in Kinesiology from Sacramento State in 2021, and his Master's in Sports Administration from Arkansas State in 2022. While an undergraduate, Anderson served as an intern in football equipment, athletics event operations, and compliance. He also interned at the Pac 12 offices. He is originally from Lancaster, California.

One of the most accomplished players in Bobcat football history, Jody Owens returned to the MSU coaching staff as safeties coach in 2024 and assumed the title of Assistant Head Coach while transitioning to linebackers in 2025. Owens came to MSU after one season as defensive coordinator and for the last four games interim head coach at NCAA Division II St. Augustine's. Owens' college coaching career began at MSU in 2015 after two seasons coaching high school football in his native Texas. He worked as a graduate assistant at Nevada in 2016 before coaching linebackers at Washington in 2017-18. In 2019 he became defensive coordinator at NAIA Briar Cliff (Iowa) then worked as co-defensive coordinator at NCAA Division II Pittsburg (Kansas) State in 2020-21. He worked on the Carolina Panthers staff in 2022 before joining the St. Augustine’s staff before the 2023 season. Owens built a legendary legacy as a Bobcat linebacker, earning unanimous First Team All-Big Sky and 2nd Team All-America honors as a junior in 2011 and consensus All-America and Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior. He earned induction into the Bobcat Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023. Josh Firm joins the Bobcats as running backs coach in 2025 after three seasons at Robert Morris (running backs coach in 2022, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks 2023-24). The Lancaster, Calif., native played football and baseball at Antelope Valley JC in his hometown before starting at quarterback at Missouri S&T in 2011 and 2012. He began his coaching career in the spring of 2013 as a player/coach for the Calanda Broncos in Chur, Switzerland. He was starting quarterback and co-offensive coordinator, leading the Broncos to a 2013 Swiss National Championship. He returned to Missouri S&T that fall, working with running backs as a student coach, then from January to June in 2014 served as offensive coordinator for the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons in Lyon, France. He joined the Wyoming staff as recruiting intern in 2014, also working alongside Vigen and helping with quarterbacks, and in 2015 became a graduate assistant for recruiting. Firm assisted UW offensive line coach Scott Fuchs in 2016 and ‘17. In 2018, Firm became tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator at Morgan State, rising to the role of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the 2020 and 2021 campaigns. Marcus Monaco begins his fourth season at Montana State in 2025, his first as special teams coordinator. Monaco joined the Bobcat staff as a defensive quality control assistant in 2022, worked on the offensive side of the ball in 2023, and in 2024 moved into the elevated role of Special Teams Quality Control and Director of Football Video. He graduated from Anaconda High in 2013, from UM Western with a Health and Human Performance degree in 2018, and from the University of Washington with a Master’s in Education, Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership in 2019. After working as a grad student intern tight ends/special teams assistant coach at Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas) in 2018, Monaco was a special teams analyst at the University of Arkansas in 2019, and was special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at East Texas Baptist in 2020-21 before joining the Bobcats. Working with MSU’s specialists, the Cats finished fourth in the FCS in net punting and sophomore kicker Myles Sansted finished among the nation’s top 20 in field goal percentage and scoring.

A highly decorated offensive coach, Pete Sterbick joins the Montana State staff in 2025 as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The appointment brings the 2022 Football Scoop NCAA Division II Offensive Coordinator of the Year and 2023 AFCA Regional Head Coach of the Year to the MSU staff after leading the Orediggers to a 22-4 record as head coach during the past two seasons. CSM finished the 2023 season as D-II runner-up and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship season with a 14-1 record. Colorado Mines compiled a 37-6 record with a conference title in all three seasons (2019-22, although the team did not play during the 2020-21 Covid year) of Sterbick’s tenure as offensive coordinator. A receiver and punter at Augustana (South Dakota) from 1998-2002, earning his degree in physical education in 2003, he began his coaching career as receivers coach at Missouri Western in 2003, then coached tight ends at North Dakota in 2004. Sterbick became an offensive graduate assistant at Washington State in 2005-07, then took over as offensive coordinator and receivers coach at D-II Grand View (Des Moines, Iowa) from 2008-11.
