Update July 2025 Devin Schroder joined Coach Moore’s staff in July 2025 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, after spending the last two seasons at Wyoming. Schroder primarily worked with the lightweights. In Schroder’s time as a coach, Wyoming has produced two All-Americans, eight NCAA qualifiers, and one Big 12 Champion. The 2024-25 season saw Wyoming finish 22nd at the NCAA Championships following a 12-6 dual season. Joey Novak (197) captured an All-American honor with a fifth-place finish. Four other Pokes punched a ticket to NCAAs, as well. The 2023-24 season saw Jore Volk (125) capture a Big 12 title and All-American status at the NCAA Championships. Gabe Willochell (149) and Novak (197) also made it to NCAAs, logging a pair of wins. Before Wyoming, Schroder spent one season as an assistant coach at Cleveland State. Schroder helped the Vikings to a seventh-place finish at the 2023 MAC Tournament, finishing with a program-record seven placers. Along with the conference tournament success, Schroder helped coach the Vikings to seven dual wins, including six conference victories. Before coaching, Schroder wrestled at Purdue, where he was a four-time NCAA qualifier, four-time Big 10 placer, and two-time Big 10 finalist. Schroder earned All-American honors in 2020, being seeded fifth for the NCAA Tournament before it was cancelled due to COVID. Updated July 2025 Fred Garcia joined Coach Moore’s staff in July 2025 as an assistant coach, following Moore from Cleveland State. Before Kent State, Garcia spent the last two seasons at Cleveland State, serving on Coach Moore’s staff. Garcia spent five seasons at Binghamton University and three years at Cleveland State before that. During the 2024-25 season, Garcia helped Daniel Bucknavich qualify for the NCAA Championships. In the 2023-24 season, Garcia helped Ben Smith capture his second MAC Championship at 197-pounds and qualify for his third NCAA Championship. He also aided Daniel Bucknavich, finishing as the runner-up at 285-pounds to earn his first NCAA Championship spot. The Vikings finished tenth overall at the 2024 MAC Championships with five placers. The Green and White were 8-8 overall and 6-3 in the MAC for the year. Off the mat, Cleveland State finished with the second-best GPA in Division 1 with a 3.57 GPA and had six individual Scholar All-Americans. The Green and White led the MAC with 11 All-Academic honorees. Before returning to Cleveland State, Garcia spent five seasons at Binghamton, assisting with three EIWA Champions and 16 NCAA qualifiers. In his final season at Binghamton, three guys qualified for the NCAA Championships. Cory Day (285 Pounds) finished as the runner-up at the Southern Scuffle, while Jacob Nolan (184 Pounds) was the runner-up at the EIWA tournament and reached the Round of 16 at the NCAAs.
