Head Coach
Jerry Mack, a veteran collegiate coach with 20 years of experience and six conference championships, was named the second football head coach in Kennesaw State history on Dec. 1, 2024. Mack immediately made an impact with the Owls, orchestrating one of the best turnarounds in college football, taking a 2-10 Kennesaw State team in their first year of FBS play and turning them into a 10-3 Conference USA Championship team. His efforts earned Conference USA Coach of the Year honors and the 2025 Paul "Bear" Bryant National Newcomer Coach of the Year award. Prior to KSU, Mack spent a season as running backs coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars and three seasons at Tennessee, where the Vols compiled a 27-12 record. He previously served as offensive coordinator at Rice, head coach at North Carolina Central where he led the Eagles to three consecutive MEAC championships, and held coaching positions at South Alabama, Memphis, Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Jackson State, and Delta State. Mack played college football at Arkansas State, lettering three years (2001-03) after transferring from Jackson State. He earned a bachelor's degree in management information systems from Arkansas State in 2003 and a master's degree in physical education from Delta State in 2006.
