Jacksonville University Men's Cross Country

July 2022-Present, Jacksonville University, Head Coach, Cross Country/Distance Coach Oversees all aspects of the men’s and women’s distance programs. 2024-2025 The men’s cross country team achieved a program-best finish at the ASUN Conference Championship.

Land enters his 11th year at the helm of JU's rowing program in 2025-26. The Jacksonville women's team has won six Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference titles and appeared in six NCAA Championships in his tenure. Jacksonville University named Mike Lane as its Director of Rowing and Head Women's Coach in October of 2015. Lane, joining Jacksonville after eight seasons as Penn's head coach, brings a variety of experience to the highly successful Dolphin rowing program. Prior to his appointment at Penn, Lane built an impressive coaching resume serving as men's freshman heavyweight rowing coach at MIT and as program director for the Everett Rowing Association where his junior men's crews finished second and fourth at Junior Nationals in three-consecutive seasons from 1998-2000. Lane graduated from Suffolk University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing and completed his master's degree in education at Penn in 2009.
