Shonda Stanton was named the program’s ninth head coach on June 10, 2017. Stanton came to the Hoosiers after 18 seasons at Marshall, where she was the winningest coach in program history with 560 victories. • Current NFCA Board Member - Vice President of Publications Stanton also serves as the head coach of the AUSL's Chicago Bandits. She took the head coaching position of the team in November 2025 and coaches the Bandits in Indiana's offseason. INDIANA Stanton is entering her ninth season as Indiana’s head coach in 2026. In 2025, Stanton took the program to its third-straight NCAA Tournament, marking the first time ever the feat had been achieved in program history. The Hoosiers went 34-20 and were selected as the No. 3 Seed in the Fayetteville Regional after reaching the quarterfinal of the Big Ten Tournament. Her Hoosier squad led the NCAA and Big Ten in three stat categories for the 2025 season: batting average (.365), doubles per game (2.13) and on-base percentage (.454). The team had two All-Americans in Taylor Minnick and Brianna Copeland. Minnick was a consensus First Team All-American by the NFCA, D1Softball and Softball America. Copeland was an NFCA Third Team All-American. Minnick and Copeland were joined by Madalyn Strader on the NFCA’s All-Region First Team. Aly VanBrandt was named NFCA All-Region Second Team while Avery Parker and Kinsey Mitchell were NFCA All-Region Third Team picks.
