Wofford also helped Jesse Sherrill reach an incredible batting average of .409 in his final season, which sits alone at eighth all-time in Georgia Southern history for single season batting average. During his time at EKU, Wofford was responsible for coaching the infielders, team defense, and hitting. Wofford saw the Colonels post back-to-back program-highs in fielding percentage, posting a .972 fielding percentage in 2021 and a .975 in 2022. Jason Beverlin
Jason Beverlin

Assistant Coach - Pitching

Jason Beverlin, a long-time college coach who has head coaching experience and ties to Georgia Southern, was named the new pitching coach of the Eagle baseball program for the 2026 season. Previously, Beverlin coached in the same role at Sun Belt rival Coastal Carolina from 2022 to 2024. In his first season with the Chanticleers, his staff led the Sun Belt in both strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.54) and fewest walks allowed per nine innings (3.58) and ranked fourth in the conference in both WHIP (1.40) and strikeouts per nine innings (9.1) on the season. Before his stint in Conway, Beverlin served as a recruiting coordinator for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2017-2020. He also served as the head coach for Bethune-Cookman from 2011 to 2017, where he won 179 games, four MEAC Tournament titles, and is the only coach in program history to compete for an NCAA Regional title in his final season with the program. Beverlin is no stranger to Statesboro, however, as before serving as the pitching coach for Tennessee from 2010-2011, he served in the same role under Hennon in 2008 and 2009. The improvements to the pitching staff were reflected on the field, as the Eagles would win the Southern Conference title in 2009. Collegiately, Beverlin was a teammate of Hennon at Western Carolina, where he won Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year in 1994, and even garnered second-team All-American honors. For this, he was inducted into the Western Carolina Hall of Fame. Beverlin would go on to play prof
