Head Coach
GW Volleyball alumna Katie Reifert has led the volleyball program since 2022 as the tenth coach in program history. In her first three seasons at the helm, Reifert has led the Buff & Blue to two A-10 tournament appearances and coached four student-athletes to earn All-Conference recognition from the Atlantic 10. Reifert returned to GW after most recently being named the head men's volleyball coach at Lawrence Tech. At Lawrence Tech, Reifert worked to rebuild the program and signed 13 newcomers to the Blue Devils' roster over six months. Before Lawrence Tech, Reifert was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Brown University volleyball program from 2018-20. In 2019, Reifert helped lead Brown to its most wins (13) and first winning season (13-10) since 2001, a record that improved the program's RPI by 61 places. In that season, Reifert guided three student-athletes to all-conference recognition. In her first year with the Bears in 2018, Reifert helped assist the team to its most wins (11) since 2014, before surpassing that mark the following year. As the recruiting coordinator, Reifert assisted in the scouting and commitment of 14 student-athletes throughout her three seasons, six of whom received all-league honors with a player of the year recognition. The Bears' 2020 first-year class was considered a top-30 recruiting class in PrepVolleyball.com's rankings. Director of Operations/Graduate Assistant
Audrey James is the Director of Operations and Graduate Assistant for George Washington volleyball. In her role, she manages day-to-day practice operations, including facility coordination, logistics, and administrative support, while serving as a liaison between the program and the University. She also coordinates travel arrangements for the program and assists the coaching staff with competition statistics and analysis. James joined George Washington Athletics after gaining extensive coaching experience with Mintonette Sports, where she assisted in the development of practice plans, provided technical instruction, and supported the overall growth and performance of athletes across multiple age groups. A former four-year NCAA Division III volleyball student-athlete, she brings a strong understanding of the student-athlete experience and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Sport Management.

Assistant Coach
Head Coach Katie Reifert is pleased to announce the addition of Jacob Paige as an assistant coach on the volleyball staff ahead of the 2025 slate. Paige arrives in Foggy Bottom after serving as the head coach of the men's team at Lawrence Tech for four seasons, where he oversaw all aspects of the NAIA program: recruiting, budgeting, academics, practice planning, skill development, film analysis, travel and social media. Throughout his tenure, Paige guided multiple student-athletes to earn All-Conference selections and led the Blue Devils to numerous WHAC Tournament appearances and victories. In 2025 alone, Paige led the Blue Devils to a 27-3 program-setting record, guiding the program to earn both the WHAC regular season and conference tournament titles, in addition to finishing 5th in the nation at the NAIA National Tournament. Paige earned WHAC Coach of the Year and coached three conference award winners in WHAC's Player of the Year, Setter of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. In addition to his work at Lawrence Tech, Paige has overseen the girl's volleyball program at Bloomfield Hills High School for nearly eight years, amassing an 83-44 career record, while emphasizing the importance of academic excellence and college recruiting readiness. Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator
Nicole Alford is in her fourth season as Assistant Coach for George Washington University and assumed the responsibility of Recruiting Coordinator in the fall of 2025. Alford joined the staff in 2022 and has helped lead the team to two Atlantic 10 Championship appearances. A native of Annapolis, Md., Alford brings a wealth of collegiate playing experience as a setter at Georgia Tech (2017), Maryland (2018-21) and Missouri (2021). During the 2021 fall with the Tigers, Alford played in 33 sets across 11 matches and tallied 274 assists. In her three seasons with the Terrapins, Alford dished out 2,037 assists, picked up All-Big Ten Academic honors in 2019 and 2020, and was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2020. She served as captain for her team in 2019 and 2020-2021. In addition, Alford registered 12 career double-doubles, including a then-career-high 52-assist double-double performance against Ohio State in 2021. In her first season with the Terps in 2018, she started as Maryland’s setter in all 32 matches. Alford recorded 1,117 assists, the highest total for a Maryland player since 2011. She posted 211 digs and 50 blocks, which was the most by a Terrapin setter since 2012. She also led her team to a win over #15-ranked Michigan.
