Caitlyn Peterson was hired as an Eastern Illinois women's basketball assistant coach in June 2024. She has helped lead the Panthers to significant success, including coaching OVC Player of the Year Macy McGlone and OVC Defensive Player of the Year Kiyley Flowers in 2024-25. Under her coaching, the team achieved an 18-12 record with a 10-0 start to OVC play (3rd best in program history), led the OVC in scoring defense (61.0 ppg) and field goal percentage defense (.392). Prior to Eastern Illinois, Peterson served as an assistant coach at Augsburg University (2023-24) and St. Cloud State (2022-23), and has coaching experience at the AAU level. A native of Lakeville, Minnesota, Peterson played basketball at St. Cloud State University for five seasons, earning two team captain honors and helping the Huskies win three NCAA Tournament berths along with NSIC regular season and tournament championships. She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State in 2021 and her master's degree in 2023.
