Josh Stice joined the Eastern Illinois University track and field staff as an assistant coach for the 2022-23 season, specializing in pole vault instruction. He is beginning his fourth season on staff for 2025-26 and helped coach EIU to the 2023 Men's Indoor OVC Track Championship. Under his coaching, athletes have posted six EIU career top ten pole vault marks, and he coached OVC Indoor Pole Vault Champion Declan Ritzenthaler in 2024. Prior to joining Eastern Illinois, Stice served as head coach of the Charleston High School track and field program and coached track and field at United Township High School. He began his athletic career earning All-Conference honors as a pole vaulter at Central College and ended his athletic career at St. Ambrose University, also earning All-Conference honors in pole vault. Stice currently works as a professor at EIU in the Kinesiology, Sports and Recreation Department.

Mitchel Couch was hired as an assistant coach on head coach James Gildon's staff at Eastern Illinois University in December 2023, where he serves as throws coach. Prior to joining EIU, Couch was a member of the track and field staff at SUNY Oneonta from 2018-23, working as an associate cross country and track & field coach with primary focus on the throws group. During his tenure at SUNY Oneonta, he coached one NCAA Division III All-American, three NCAA qualifying performances, four SUNYAC Individual Conference Champions, 18 All-SUNYAC All-Conference performers, and 10 All-AARTFC (All-Region) performers. He also coached school record holder Isabella Fabrizio in indoor and outdoor shot put. As a competitor, Couch was a three-time NCAA Division III national qualifier at SUNY Cortland and was the NCAA Division III national runner-up in hammer throw in 2017, setting school records in both weight throw and hammer throw. He holds a Bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland (2018) and a Master's degree from SUNY Cortland (2021), along with USTFCCCAF certifications in Hammer Throw and Throwing Event specializations.

Eastern Illinois * Hired as EIU Assistant Track Coach / Cross Country Coach in January 2025 TRACK & FIELD ACCOMPLISHMENTS * Coached indoor and outdoor track seasons

Roger An was hired in August 2025 as Eastern Illinois University's assistant track & field coach, where he serves as the sprints, hurdles and relays coach. He comes to EIU after three seasons as an assistant coach at Mount St. Mary's (2022-25), where he coached 36 All-Conference performers and 14 All-Region selections. During his tenure at Mount St. Mary's, he helped coach teams to second and third place finishes at the MAAC Outdoor Championships in 2025, and coached athletes who set or broke school records in multiple sprint events. An also worked as an assistant coach at Amherst College (2021-22) and Lake Superior State, where he served as co-sprints coach and strength and conditioning coach. A graduate of The College of Wooster, where he competed in track and field, An holds a Master's Degree from Southern Nazarene University and maintains multiple coaching certifications including CSCS, NASM Certified Nutritional Coach, and USTFCCCA Certified Speed Specialist Coach. He is currently completing a capstone project for USATF Level III Expert Tier certification in Sprints/Hurdles/Relays.
