One of the winningest women’s tennis coaches in the nation, Jamie Ashworth has led the Blue Devils to new heights. Since becoming the head coach in 1997, he has led the program to 21 20-win seasons and 28 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Under his guidance in 2009, the Blue Devils reached the pinnacle of success as they captured the program’s first NCAA Championship. Over the past 29 years at the helm of the program, he has led Duke to a 636-162 (.797) overall record and a 254-54 (.825) ACC mark, while advancing to the NCAA semifinals 11 times, the NCAA Championship match twice and notching ACC Tournament Championships on nine occasions. Following the 2014 NCAA Team Championships, Ashworth was named the Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year, as voted on by his peers. He is also a four-time ACC Coach of the Year (2001, 2003, 2018 & 2022) recipient and five-time ITA Regional Coach of the Year (2000, 2003, 2008, 2011 & 2014). On Jan. 20, 2024, Ashworth became the quickest NCAA Division I women’s coach to reach 600 career victories as he accomplished the mark in only 747 matches. Against Illinois, Ashworth helped the Blue Devils to a 4-2 victory and he became just the seventh Division I coach to reach the 600-win ledger. Prior to Duke, Gross was a Facilities & Game Operations Assistant at Abilene Christian University, where he managed game operations for various sports, recruited and scheduled student workers for events and collaborated with different departments to ensure successful game days. Previously, Gross worked as a Recreation Technician with Frederick County Parks & Recreation. There, he planned and executed daily recreation activities for children in grades K-5 and managed part-time assistants' schedules at Middletown Elementary School. In his earlier career, Gross completed two internships, one as a Program Supervising Intern with Frederick County, VA Parks & Recreation in the summer of 2019 and the other as a Facilities & Events Intern at James Madison University Athletics from August-December 2019. During these internships, he oversaw multiple programs, managed events such as the Shenandoah Valley Football Classic and assisted with game day operations for various sports. Gross graduated Magna Cum Laude from James Madison University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management and a minor in General Business.

Gerhard Gruindelingh enters his third season as assistant coach with the Blue Devils, after a four-year stint as an assistant professional at the Innis Arden Golf Club in Old Greenwhich, Conn. He was responsible for developing and promoting tennis programs for all age groups, including the junior’s league and women’s team. Gruindelingh organized practices, clinics and private lessons at the club and provided feedback to athletes to improve their game. Over his two seasons with the Blue Devils, Gruindelingh has helped lead Duke to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, including advancing to the quarterfinals in 2025. He helped lead Duke to the ACC regular season title in 2025 with a perfect 12-0 ledger. It marked the first ACC regular season crown since 2018. In March of 2023, Gruindelingh was hired as an associate head coach at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., where he worked to plan, organize and implement high quality lessons, clinics, camps and other tennis programs. He also worked directly with the Director of Racquet Sports and other head professionals to identify areas of growth and options for increased revenue for the national training center. A four-year letterwinner at the University of South Alabama, Gruindelingh compiled a 60-50 overall singles record during his tenure, including a 44-37 mark in dual matches. Brown joined the Blue Devil family after serving as the sports information director/marketing and promotions coordinator at the University of South Carolina Aiken for three years. A native of Raleigh, N.C., Brown serves as the primary contact for the women's soccer, women's tennis, women's golf and wrestling teams. His 2001-02 women's basketball media guide placed second nationally in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) publications contest. The contest was for Division I institutions and received 102 entries. His 2006-07 women's basketball guide also placed fifth, while the 2007-08 guide was sixth and the 2008-09 guide was seventh in the CoSIDA contests.
