Heintz joined the Duke men’s golf program as assistant coach on Feb. 10, 2017, and was named the program's eighth all-time head coach on June 26, 2025. With Heintz on the coaching staff, Duke men’s golf has claimed 15 team titles, including the 2017 ACC Championship. In postseason play, Duke has earned a berth to an NCAA regional in every possible season and has advanced to the NCAA Championship four times as a team, including an appearance in the 2018 match-play semifinals. Both Ethan Evans and Bryan Kim have represented Duke at the 2024 and 2025 NCAA Championships, respectively, as individuals, with Heintz serving as the on-course coach. In his eight seasons, Heintz has helped the Blue Devils set the top eight team season scoring averages in program history, and Duke has posted a program-low 54-hole score of 41-under, 823, two separate times with Heintz on the staff. Four separate Blue Devils have been named an All-American at least once with Heintz on the coaching staff. Evan Katz and Adrien Pendaries were Second Team PING All-America selections in 2020. Chandler Eaton took home honorable mention All-America recognition from both PING and Golfweek in 2018 before being named Second Team All-America by Golfweek and Third Team All-America by PING in 2019. Alex Smalley was a Second Team All-America pick by both PING and Golfweek in 2018 and 2019. Eaton was an Academic All-America selection by CSC in 2020 and the Blue Devils have logged a total of 31 Srixon/Cleveland All-Americ

Elise Gentile joined Duke Athletics in September 2024 and serves as the Varsity Golf Operations Assistant for the Blue Devil men's and women's golf programs. Gentile provides administrative and operational support for both programs, including expense processing, compliance documentation, recruiting visit planning, donor relations assistance, uniform and equipment coordination, and support for facility and vehicle scheduling. She also helps manage event planning and communications, including a monthly newsletter for alumni and supporters. Before joining Duke, Gentile spent nearly five years at Immaculata Catholic School in Durham, serving as athletic director from 2019-24 and as director of facilities from 2021-23. She previously worked for the Town of Cary from 2009-19 in roles that included athletics program assistant at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and athletic aide IV. Gentile spent more than four years with Palm Beach County from 2004-09, serving as golf course manager at Okeeheelee Golf Course, recreation center manager, and recreation specialist II. She began her career as national director of continuing programs for the National Alliance for Youth Sports from 2001-04. Gentile earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Central Michigan University in 2000 after completing a bachelor's degree in sports studies with a business administration concentration in 1999.

Jamie Gerhart joined the Duke men’s golf program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016, bringing extensive experience in collegiate competition management, player development and leadership both on and off the course. Gerhart has served as one of two designated coaches at multiple high-level collegiate events for the Blue Devils, including the 2023 Cal Poly Invitational, where the team finished fifth with a top-10 individual performance and the 2022 Stitch Intercollegiate, highlighted by a team championship and individual medalist honors. He also played a key role during postseason competitions, including the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Regionals, where the team went on to advance to the NCAA Championship. In addition to championship events, Gerhart has managed team travel and competition for numerous individual tournaments, consistently creating environments in which student-athletes have excelled. Under his guidance, golfers recorded top finishes at events such as the Thomas Sharkey Intercollegiate (3rd, 2025), Seahawk Intercollegiate (4th, 2024; 3rd, 2021), UNCG/Grandover Collegiate (2nd, 2019), Heel Pack Individual (1st, 2017), and Hummingbird Intercollegiate (T-2nd, 2017). A committed community member, Gerhart has been deeply involved in youth and adaptive sports. He served as a volunteer life skills coach and golf instructor with First Tee of the Triangle for a decade, has coached the Special Olympics Durham County golf team since 2014, and previously served on the
