Head Wrestling Coach
Nate Carr, Jr. is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Davidson wrestling program. The 2024-25 campaign was another year of growth for the Wildcats, including Tanner Peake as a mainstay in the National Rankings. In addition to a pair of league wins for the second straight season, Davidson had eight placers highlighted by four runner ups at the Southeast Open, both program bests. In his second season, Carr guided Peake to his second consecutive SoCon final at 157 pounds as the No. 2 seed. Peake ended the season ranked No. 33 in the country and won 12 of his last 15 matches. As a result, Peake was selected as the first alternate for the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Carr also helped newcomers Tyler-Xavier McKnight (149) and Wyatt Ferguson to the SoCon's All-Freshman team. McKnight earned 21 wins including an upset win over No. 32 Derek Raike (Ohio) at the Navy Classic. Ferguson picked up 15 wins in his freshman season with an impressive 6-2 mark
