Head Coach
Kevin Koch completed his eighth season as Concordia Wisconsin's men's wrestling head coach in 2024-25. During his time, the Falcons have compiled a 34-54 record in duals and compete in the toughest regional in the country. In 2024, the Falcons made history at the CCIW Championships, taking third overall, the highest team finish since joining the conference. The Blue and White also claimed four wrestlers, including two champions, placed in the top three of their respective brackets. As a freshman, Cole Ramos became the second Falcon in history to take first at the CCIW Championships, storming through the 149-pound division and claiming First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year honors. Meanwhile, Jonathan Pullen put on a dominant performance to take the 185-pound division and claim the event's Most Valuable Wrestler Award. The 2023 season saw Koch's squad claim a 7-3 dual record and finish in fourth place, the highest conference finish during Koch's tenure. Koch, one of the greatest wrestlers in program history, returns to his alma mater a decade after ending his career as a National Qualifier. The Edgar, Wisconsin, native completed his career with 119 career victories, which ranks second all-time. Koch won over 30 matches in a season twice, including an outstanding 36-10 record during his senior campaign that culminated in a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship. Assistant Coach
Brett Corner returned to Concordia University Wisconsin as an assistant coach for the Wrestling program when former great Kevin Koch was hired for the 2017-18 season. He started the program in 1991 and directed hundreds of student-athletes during his 20 years at the helm. During his tenure Corner's teams won seven Northern Wrestling Association titles and produced one All-American (Edwin Allen), along with 17 NAIA and four NCAA National Qualifiers. He was voted conference coach of the year eight times and Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association District 8 Coach of the Year twice (2006 and 2012). Corner's teams have twice received NWCA Scholar All-America status at the NCAA Division III level. CUW's highest national finish was 16th in the NAIA National Championships in 1997. Following 20 years as Falcon head coach, Corner stepped down to concentrate on his full-time job as a rubber product salesman. He currently lives in Grafton, Wis., with wife Brenda, and daughters Monica and Sarah. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from UW-La Crosse in 1986. A three-time NAIA All-American at UW-La Crosse, Corner was 111-21-1 while competing at 142 lbs. He was sixth in 1984, fifth in 1985, and second in 1986 at the NAIA National Championships. Corner was selected to the NAIA/USA National Team that toured China in June, 1986, the first collegiate team to tour China in any sport. Graduate Assistant
Luke Silva will be serving as the graduate assistant for CUW for the 2025-26 season. Silva previously coached with Beat the Streets Chicago where he led the Tri-Taylor location coaching boys and girls at the youth and high school levels. He was a part of Team Illinois' boys and girls Fargo National Team coaching staff. He was also a volunteer assistant for Aurora University's men's and women's wrestling programs during the 2023-24 season. He wrestled at the collegiate level for Coe College and Aurora University. At Coe, he was a two year starter and placed at the Lower Midwest Regional in 2020, placing 7th. At Aurora, he was a two year starter and team captain. He was a 2023 CCIW Conference Champion at 174lbs and was a two time Upper Midwest place winner, placing 7th in 2022 and 4th in 2023. He was also an NWCA Academic All-American in 2023. Silva also competed in Greco-Roman and was a U23 Greco-Roman All-American in 2022. He graduated from Aurora University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management. He attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois. He was a three time Illinois state qualifier and two time state place winner, placing 4th in 2016 and 5th in 2017.
