Matt Warshaw

Biography

A CSUN alum ('06), Matt Warshaw enters his 10th year as Matador head women's water polo coach in 2025-26. Warshaw is the longest-tenured Matador head coach in program history. His Matadors have been a perennial nationally-ranked program while the team has finished four seasons ranked in the top-20 in the country. He also holds the second-most wins in program history with 117 through the 2025 season. During his time with CSUN, the Matadors have earned 16 All-American awards and 12 All-Conference honors. He has also coached four-time All-Americans Dorottya Telek and Anna Pal, both of which have set school records for goals scored and assists, respectively. CSUN has achieved a high level of excellence in the classroom during Warshaw's tenure, earning 123 ACWPC All-Academic Team honors including a team-record 16 in 2021 while the program has received 72 Big West All-Academic Team selections. In 2025, the Matadors recorded their third-consecutive winning season for the first time in a decade, finishing the year with a 16-13 overall record. CSUN began the year ranked No. 16 in the nation and maintained a national ranking for 12 weeks of the season. The team would also set a school record with 393 goals scored as a group. Warshaw led CSUN to its most wins in 10 seasons with an 18-15 campaign in 2024. CSUN also finished the year tied for the No. 16 national ranking, the highest the program has been ranked nationally since 2015. Warshaw also posted his 100th career victory on April 5,
