Deezha Battle

Biography

Deezha Battle is in her first season as Director of Player Development for the CSUN Women's Basketball team. Battle comes to CSUN after two seasons (2022-23, 2023-24) as a women's basketball Graduate Assistant at California Baptist University in Riverside. During her time at CBU, she helped the Lancers finish the 2023-24 season with a 28-4 record. CBU went on the win the WAC Championship, and make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She contributed to daily practices and served as the team’s videographer and photographer, capturing critical moments throughout the season. Battle's extensive playing and coaching experience adds a unique perspective to her current role. From 2020 to 2022, she transitioned to coaching, first as an Assistant Coach at Bacone College (2020-2021) in the NAIA and then at Bosque High School in Albuquerque, where she developed players and helped refine team strategies. A former standout player at Pepperdine University from 2018-20, Battle excelled under head coach Delisha Milton-Jones. During her junior season, she ranked third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.5 points per game, and led the team in three-pointers with 47. She helped the Waves to a 22-12 record in the 2018-19 season and earned WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors, along with recognition as a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete.
