Darnell Westbrook

Biography

Fresno State head coach Charlotte Morgan announced the addition of Darnell Westbrook to her staff as an assistant coach on July 10, 2025. Westbrook will serve as the recruiting coordinator and oversee the outfield defense. "I'm excited to add Darnell to the staff," said Morgan. "He brings a high level of knowledge and experience on the recruiting trail. Not only does Darnell know our sport on and off the field but he has an energy that we needed on staff!" Since 2018, Westbrook has served as an assistant coach for the Corona Angels Howard program, one of the top 10 travel softball organizations in the country. Working primarily with outfielders and hitters on the 16U and 18U teams, he played a key role in developing elite talent and preparing players for the next level. He coached over 150 athletes who went on to play Division I softball. He also worked closely with college coaches to support recruiting efforts and scholarship opportunities, conducted player evaluations to drive performance, and helped the team achieve numerous top finishes at elite national tournaments. Additionally, he was instrumental in recruiting top-tier talent from across the country to the Corona Angels program. While also coaching with the Corona Angels, Westbrook served as the Associate Head Varsity Softball Coach at Arcadia High School from September 2018 to June 2023.
