Baylor equestrian head coach Casie Maxwell announced the return of Cindy Walquist on August 1, 2025, adding to the coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 40-year Western trainer and coaching veteran held that position at Baylor from 2010-18, and is excited to be back at BU. "I feel blessed and excited to be returning to Baylor University on the coaching staff of the Equestrian team," she said. "Baylor has high educational standards with great Christian roots. I look forward to working with these talented young athletes." Entering her ninth season, Maxwell is excited to bring a coach of Walquist's caliber back to the staff. "I am thrilled to welcome Coach Walquist back to Baylor," Maxwell said. "She is a tremendous coach, both in and out of the arena, who will help elevate this entire program. Aside from coaching, Cindy is a wonderful person who will pour into our student-athletes through all aspects of their experience at Baylor. We can't wait to get started."
