Kai Uchimura

Biography

Coach Uchimura grew up in Conyers, Georgia and played Select Soccer at Rockdale Youth Soccer Association, beginning as a Goalkeeper. At Salem High School, he played 3 years on the Varsity Team, captaining the team Senior Year. He attended Georgia State University and received his Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education. While at GSU, he spent several seasons on the Georgia State Men's Club Soccer Team as Goalkeeper. He spent 2017-2018 student-teaching at Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain as Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach and Spring of 2018 as Assistant Coach for the Georgia State Women's Club Soccer Team. Since 2018, he has taught Social Studies at Druid Hills High School in DeKalb County and served as Girls' Varsity Head Soccer Coach, leading them to the state tournament in each season coached. Druid Hills achieved their first playoff win in 2025, making the second round. He was named DeKalb County Girls' Soccer Coach of the Year and GHSA Region 5 4-AAAA Coach of the Year in 2025. He has been an Assistant Soccer Coach at Agnes Scott College since 2022.
