Adam Freudenthal is in this 7th year volunteer coaching at USC Upstate. A product of Spartanburg High School, Adam ran at Winthrop University (2012 graduate) majoring in Marketing with a minor in Economics and garnered All-Conference honors in the Big South in Cross Country (2010, 2011), Indoor Track (2011-5k, 2012-3k & 5k), and Outdoor Track (2012-10K). Upon graduation, he ran professionally for ASICS GTC-ELITE for a couple years before returning to Spartanburg to train under head coach Carson Blackwelder before retiring from professional competition in 2020. Adam currently works full-time at ScanSource, Inc in Greenville, SC.

Andy Glass is in his fourth year with the USC Upstate track & field program. He will be the assistant coach working primarily with the athletes of the throwing events. Previously, Glass coached at Briar Cliff University for five years where his throwing event athletes qualified for the National Championships a total of 14 times. Glass also coached 3 athletes to become All-Americans, including two men’s Javelin throwers that helped the Briar Cliff men’s team tie for 9th place at the NAIA National Championships in 2016. Prior to his work at Briar Cliff, Glass threw at Southeast Missouri State University and was All Ohio Valley Conference a total of 10 times. He was also the 2008 OVC outdoor shot put champion helping the Redhawk’s to a men’s team Ohio Valley Conference Championship, one of two team titles that Glass was a part of. Glass earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master’s of Art in Human Resource Management from Briar Cliff University. He is also a USA Track and Field level 1 certified coach.
