Jacob Huesman

Biography

2025 marked Jacob Huesman’s third season on Russ Huesman’s staff as quarterbacks coach and first as Co-Offensive Coordinator and play caller. Huesman joined the Richmond staff in 2023 as quarterbacks coach before adding Pass Game Coordinator to his title in 2024 and Co-Offensive Coordinator in January 2025. In 2025, under Huesman’s leadership, Richmond used two quarterbacks, with Kyle Wickersham playing in 10 games, starting nine, completing 137-of-212 passes for 1,352 yards and nine touchdowns, while leading the Patriot League in completion percentage at 64.6 percent. Wickersham also contributed as Richmond’s second-leading rusher with 438 yards on 115 carries and six touchdowns. Ashten Sensilire also played in 10 games, starting three, going 58-of-111 passing for 848 yards and eight touchdowns, while rushing 53 times for 188 yards and three scores. Sensilire had a career day against Bucknell on October 4, throwing four touchdowns for 307 yards, and helped rally Richmond to its first-ever Patriot League win against Colgate on October 11, throwing a 75-yard touchdown and scoring a rushing touchdown. He also came off the bench against William & Mary on November 22 to lead a game-winning 13-play, 91-yard drive in the fourth quarter. The Spiders ranked third in the Patriot League in rushing with 1,772 yards, averaging 147.7 yards per game, and the offensive line allowed just 14 sacks on the season (1.17 per game), ranking third in the league and 14th nationally at the FCS level.
