In his first campaign with the Tigers, Nutt helped lead a turnaround in Columbia that accumulated in the program’s top season in years. The Tigers improved their record by 12 games in 2022-23 – the seventh-best mark in the nation and the highest by a power-conference team – as MU claimed its most wins in 11 years, won its first NCAA Tournament game in 13 seasons and recorded its best conference finish since joining the SEC in 2012. The success didn’t stop after just one season on campus. In 2023, Nutt helped the Tigers land the nation’s fifth-ranked recruiting class and followed it up with three wins over schools ranked in the top five in 2024-25 – a first for the program since 1988-89.
