Ally Mooney enters her first season as an assistant coach with Delaware field hockey in 2025 after being hired in April of 2025. "I am thrilled to welcome Ally Mooney as our assistant field hockey coach at the University of Delaware,” Zollinger said. “Ally is a passionate coach, an inspiring competitor, and a true teacher of the game. Through her multi-championship winning student-athlete career and the variety in her coaching roles, she knows exactly what it takes to elevate a team environment to success and achievement. With her high energy, fast work rate, and unwavering commitment to creating an impactful student-athlete experience, Ally will undoubtedly play a key role in the future success of our program.” Mooney comes to Newark after spending the previous three seasons under Zollinger at DII Shippensburg, where she served as the program’s defensive coordinator. She led a unit that sat atop the nation in goals against average (0.80) and scoring margin (+2.71), while sitting third in shutouts per game (0.48). “I am thrilled and honored to join the University of Delaware as an assistant field hockey coach,” Mooney said. “It’s a privilege to be part of a program with a tradition of excellence and a bright future.
