Biography

Head Coach Dave Pezzino heads into his 19th season as the head coach of UConn men’s golf in 2025-26. Pezzino saw his Huskies take home three tournament titles in 2023-24 and now has 19 team titles during his tenure at UConn. The Huskies won their own UConn Invitational at GreatHorse for the fifth time in the tournament’s 14-year history, claimed the BIG EAST Match Play title for the third-straight season and then took The Surf Club Invitational trophy. UConn’s Bradley Sawka was honored as the 2024 BIG EAST Freshman of the year and was joined by Tommy Dallahan on the all-conference second team. The duo was also named PING All-Northeast after the season. He has coached 15 all-conference selections, 21 PING All-Northeast Region picks and 14 All-New England selections. The 2022-23 season saw Coach Pezzino added another achievement to an already-impressive list of accomplishments. Besides another team tournament victory and six Top Five finishes during the 2022-23 season, the UConn coach guided UConn’s first-ever BIG EAST Conference men’s golf Player of the Year in grad student Jared Nelson. Nelson’s recognition from the league symbolizes how Pezzino has raised the standards for all aspects of UConn golf since he took over the program on Aug. 24, 2007 – not only the talent level of the student-athletes, but also the academics, level of competition, scheduling and expectation of success. Under Pezzino, Top 5 finishes have all but become the norm and Top 10s almost taken for granted
