The Bibona File All-American Two-time Big West Pitcher of the Year Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Winner Daniel Bibona begins his 13th year as the pitching coach for the Anteaters. In 2014 the pitching staff set a school record by posting a program-best 2.76 team ERA, surpassing the previous mark of 2.95 (2011) and becoming just the second Anteater team to log an earned run average below 3.00. The Anteaters also pitched in a program-best 591 innings and posted 27 saves, eclipsing the previous high of 20, recorded in 2009 and 2006. Bibona mentored Andrew Morales and Sam Moore to multiple All-America honors with the former winning the Senior CLASS Award, the same honor that Bibona captured in 2010. Moore, who struggled on the mound in 2013, became the NCAA, Big West and UCI single-season leader in saves with 23 in 2014. Moore was voted the Gregg Olsen Award, honoring the “Breakout Player of the Year”. Bibona played from 2007-10 and was the first Anteater to be named Big West Pitcher of the Year back-to-back seasons. The southpaw collected five All-America honors and also was a two-time all-conference first-team selection. Bibona helped the Anteaters to four NCAA Tournament berths and was voted to two NCAA Regional All-Tournament teams. He was named a USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and holds the career record in strikeouts. Bibona also won the prestigious Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for displaying excellence in four areas; community service, the classroom, character and
